The West Fork of the Calcasieu River at Sam Houston Jones State
Park.
* from Friday Morning Until Further Notice, or Until the Warning is
Cancelled.
* At 7:00am Thursday the Stage was 2.9 Feet.
* Major Flooding is Forecast.
* Flood Stage is 5.0 Feet.
* Forecast, As the Predicted storm Surge from Hurricane Ike Moves Up The
Calcasieu River, the West Fork of the Calcasieu River will Respond
and Rise Above Flood Stage by tomorrow Late Morning and
Continue to Rise to near 10.0 Feet by Early Saturday Morning.
* Impact, at 8.5 Feet, Water Levels are near Those Reached During
The storm Surge from Hurricane Rita in 2005. Cypress Lake Drive is
Impassable and Water is Up to a Few Homes Along the Road. Portions
of Sam Houston Park are Under Water.
